HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY DAVE..!

Here it is 2020. Craziest year on record! China virus pandemic, the world is upside down. People are rioting, looting, just gone crazy! Thank God that He hasn't changed.

I don't manage this blog any more thanks to Facebook. It took forever to get to this point to post, lol, what was my password? :) There are tons of broken links here... the only one that I was curious about was the link to my conversion which is at the bottom of this page. It still WORKS!!! 😲

Birthday #23

Hello, old blog of mine. I had to stop in and look around a bit. Re-read my conversion post (at bottom of page) and just marveled just how blessed I am. I could have so easily missed it and lived the rest of life in my own strength, headed to Hell. Tomorrow, I will 23 years in the Lord. Imagine the big number 'eternity' has! :) Thank you, God, for hearing my plea for help many years ago. I know I have slipped a bit in my church attendance, You know the things in my life. If there is a new chapter in my life coming, may I see and accept it and not waste any more time. My time on earth is about at its end I feel. OnlyYou know. But, I know that I know, You will never forsake me...ever!

Where's Dave?

Wow.... long time, no see blog of mine! With Twitter and Facebook and texting a part of my life now, I haven't given you any attention in a long while! Hmmm. Should I just close you down..?..or just stop back in from time to time? Ok... like Jack Bauer, "YOU LIVE ANOTHER DAY"...

I normally don't have conversations with a page on the screen, but you know now why this blog is so out-dated.... Even now, I don't have time to update all the broken links and replace missing videos, etc....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 ME

18 years ago, I met Jesus. My wife just informed me that she was leaving and I couldn't FIX it, though in my OWN strength, I sure tried. Jesus was waiting. I drove my truck all day, calling people to get involved, to help change her mind. Jesus was waiting. After every attempt from every angle and such, after I got the very end of myself, well... Jesus was waiting! And immediately received me, held me and gave me new life. One must die to self or he is just faking it we must admit. Not that I am already perfected. I have my good days and some not so good. I am going through some tough times now with church, my service for Christ, etc... God will get me through this!! He is not finished. The same deal is for ALL, not for a select few as some mistakenly sincerely believe.... that's doesn't fit the God that I know, the One who waited for this man to bottom out and just look up, confessing the Lord Jesus with his mouth, believing is his heart that God raised Him, Jesus!, from the grave, conquering death once for all. This man... met Jesus 18 years ago and my only regret is that I didn't sooner. But.........that's OK, that's my story, the truth. My complete testimony is at the bottom of this page. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD DAVE :)

Excited about release of 'RESTART" from the Newsboys. God continues to use these guys over many years and a few change-ups. I never miss their concerts because I always encounter God through worship with the guys. Here's a lyric video of their new song, "Live With Abandon"

New Job Status

Ok.....ok...this is old news but I'm just getting around to posting here about it. Appears that my blog posting is waning somewhat.....ok....a whole lot! Oh well... we all go through phases yes?!?!

I now am a full time bus driver for Suwannee County Schools here in Florida. I still drive motor coaches on Saturdays and during the summer months, which is fast approaching! The decision to go with the school was that I needed a full time, not a part time status. But I love both so I will be the BIG coach when I can :)

Hope to be posting more regularly!!

Thanksgiving 2012

Thanks be to GOD for all He has done for me... Can I get an Amen? If I could list all that He has done for me, I would run out of words, looking for some new words to adequately express my thoughts. Yes, I still sin.... too much it seems lately, but I still know that He is in my corner, in my heart... cheering me on to be a better man and encouraging me to run this race well. I get so tired of repenting of the same nagging sin, thinking that God is just about ready to say "OK, that's one too many, you are not Mine".... That's downright scary!! But knowing His Word, He is not giving up on me just yet. And for that alone, I am so thankful. He loves me, He hates my sin... I just have to hate it that much as well and conquer these things that can be a stumbling block, things that can be a foothold for the enemy to attack.

I spent the day with family, eating and then some more :) Playing corn hole to work off the FULLness, enjoying each others company. My daughter has grown into a beautiful young woman. I pray for a godly man to enter her life, only if he doesn't move her away that is.. :)  My son had to work but will be coming in soon. He is a fine young man.
Thanks be to GOD for all He has done for me!

Happy Birthday Dave

Well Happy Birthday you old geezer you. You do not deserve to have it so good but since God is so good to you, you can't help but have a good day no matter what might come your way. I bet you couldn't even name all of the ways God has blessed you. But try to anyway, it will change your attitude and life.

September 3, 1995 ... the day you met Jesus..! Wow... that was many years ago now, what..?..16 years?!?! I know, you wouldn't trade them for anything but still, there were some days since then that you would rather 'do over'. Who hasn't wanted to do that! But knowing that you are in Christ Dave, 1John 1:9 tells you to confess and He will forgive and your relationship can again grow and Glow! Thank God for that..!

I know that you are not all what God wants you to be... so He's a still working on you, as the saying goes. (Just quit making it SO hard for Him to change you)

Thank you Jesus for saving a sinner as Dave. He loves you with all of his heart, all of his soul and all of his mind. Because of YOU Lord, he can thrive in this world and in the one to come! Help him to tell others of your amazing love and of your desire for us to know you as Savior and Lord.

Happy Birthday Dave... you've already received the best gift ever...JESUS CHRIST..!

Lazy Dave

As you may have noticed, I haven't posted much lately. Eh.... oh well. From what is on here, you can get an idea of how I see things. :) I have been spending too much time on Facebook I reckon? Have a great day. Love Jesus, it will change your life!

Thanksgiving wishes to all.

I know I haven't posted anything in a long time now. Guess I am too busy, too lazy or both! But there is more than enough stuff here now that gives anyone an idea what old Dave is about :) Thank God for providing all that I need, even when I feel so unworthy at times. I am so glad that my salvation and eternal life doesn't depend upon my behavior, but my belief. That simple belief that Christ died for my sin, was buried and arose 3 days later, conquering death and the grave, providing assurance to all people who would follow Him. Of course my behavior has changed (for the good) since Jesus came into my life, but at times we all slip up in some way. Confession and restoration is always provided by my Savior. THANK YOU LORD should be my 'heart cry' today and always....
"Give honor to the LORD for the glory of his name. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness." -Psalms 29:2 (NLT)

Arise My Love

I know it is not Easter, (actually Resurrection Day), but this is a great video and song to lift up our spirits and nenew our hope. But if you are a Christian, everyday should be celebrated as Resurrection Day, not just a day in April. 24/7/365...live it!

Super Monk

This is a foreign cartoon I came across. It is a little on the edge, but it is funny to me. If you know what the lyrics say and think they are offensive, let me know please. Watch it several times to catch all the action. :)

The American Flag

This is a wonderful video of our flag. Red, White and Blue goosebumps if you love our country. A reminder if you don't, freedom isn't free and it is worth defending at all costs. God bless the USA...again.

Let Go and Take Hold

"For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.' "
Isaiah 41:13

A man who fell over the side of a cliff was hanging on to a branch that was starting to give way. Recognizing it was only a matter of time before he would fall to his death, he shouted, "Is anybody up there? Somebody help me!" Suddenly Jesus appeared, leaned over the edge, and said, "Young man, reach out and take my hand, and I will save you. But first, you must let go of that branch you are holding on to." The man didn't want to let go of the branch.

Jesus told him, "You must take hold of My hand and let go of the branch, or I cannot pull you up." The man paused for a minute and said, "Is anybody else up there?" A lot of us don't want to let go. We still want to hold on to a part of our old lives. But there has to be a moment in each of our lives in which we have recognized we are sinners and have asked for God's forgiveness. Then Jesus Christ comes in. But we have to let go. Then some changes must take place.

The Bible says there is a spiritual blindness in all those who have not yet turned their lives over to Jesus Christ. So we must have our spiritual eyes opened. We must turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God (see Acts 26:18). As we yield to God and His will for our lives, then we will receive the forgiveness of sins. Then we will see the incredible benefits of making those changes.

But we have to let go of our branch and take hold of His hand.

'to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'
-Acts 26:18 (NKJV)

"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." Philippians 2:13 (NKJV)

I heard a wise man once say, "God, I want to be in Your will and not in Your way." It took ole Dave a while to figure that I don't "do" for God, even though it seems to be that way from our perspective, but it is God who works through us to accomplish His goals. And with that said, He can "get-er-done" with or without Dave. Read my hero Adrian Rodger's comment on this.

"One of the greatest secrets I have ever learned is this: God doesn’t want me to do anything for Him. He wants to do something through me. People say, “Well, I just serve God in my poor, little, old weak way.” I feel like saying, “Well, quit it.” He doesn’t want you to serve Him in your poor, little, old weak way. He wants you out of the way, so He can flow through you! We need to make ourselves available to God and say, “God, I’m tired of being inhibited. I want to be inhabited by You. I want You to live Your life through me.”

-Adrian Rodgers

...and all of God's people said, "Amen"
